Reasons Why Our Hemp Drinks Are Unique

We source hemp that is organically and sustainably grown in our home state of Oregon from a single farm. We use a blend of broad spectrum hemp distillate and raw extract hemp oil (sometimes referred to as crude oil and contains all of the cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids found naturally in the plant. Our unique blend is designed to retain the flavor and aromas of the plant while achieving a measured dose of 25mg of CBD per bottle.

Because we never use CBD isolate or chemically engineered water soluble additives, we rely on a traditional emulsion technique to ensure the oils from our plant based ingredients are safely and evenly distributed throughout the beverages. We use a combination of vegan gum arabic (aka acacia gum from the bark of the tree) and ester gum with our hemp extract to achieve the delightfully smooth sippers.

We tried working with co-packers, but were never satisfied with the results. We make our beverages in our own facility outside of Portland, Oregon. We control the process through every step of production: we blend, batch, bottle, and pasteurize our drinks by hand.

The inspiration for the Aurora Elixirs flavors are the dominant terpenes in cannabis. (Terpenes are the aromatic compounds found in many plants and herbs to create their characteristic scents). Many terpenes are bioactive, meaning they may affect the body in different ways, and are used in aromatherapy to influence mood and stress (think lavender). We designed our flavors to enhance the terpenes in our hemp oils, which is where the combination of citrus, herbal, floral, and earthy flavors originates. It is also why our elixirs can be both calming and exhilarating.

Our flavors and formulations were honed after years of tasting, testing, and trial by a team of career beverage professionals and cannabis enthusiasts. Aurora Elixirs are not part of the CBD gold rush, but were made with a desire to build something that is authentic, inspired, and original. We submit each batch of our drinks for third party lab analysis to ensure that what we say on our package and in our message is tested and true.
